About Sometimes it pays to work late! I was driving home yesterday evening about 7:45pm as I went by the grounds of the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company . The low-lying sun was nicely illuminating several trucks carrying disassembled rides for this weekend's Firemens' Carnival.

Catching the other carnival ride in the upper right corner was pure serendipity.

The first thing that struck me was how sharp this shot was.The color, the angle, and of coarse the one in a million jet in the background, all make this a very enjoyable photo to view. But you know, when I see a plane like that in the background I can't help but think of the World Trade Center.

Hi Margaret,

Thank you for your kind comments! I'm way behind on keeping up with my Usefilm Friends, but I hope to take a longer look at your beautiful portfolio as well as others this weekend :-)

Yes, I used the "drop shadow" frame under "Effects" in Photoshop Elements 2.0 I'm glad you like it - I really like this effect, but it's a matter of personal taste, and not everyone's cup of tea.

Best regards,
SteveR

Great capture, the sort I like, nobody really knows if I took it 'level' or not. I like the framing effect ie no frame but a 3d shadow, would be interested in how you achieve. Is it with the drop shadow ?

Steve, you have a great eye for color, as you composed this perfectly. Great eye candy! ..Brad

great catch -- sometimes the best shots are those we don't plan...love the feel of the plane flinging off the tilt-a-whirl -- great color.
