About
Photo taken in the wee hours of 6/20/2004. This is a 60 minute exposure. The main exposure was 59 minutes, then the lens was covered for a minute, and uncovered for a minute to show the stars. This image has teh celestial equator (straight trails) along the diagonal. the stars further away from the equator curve away from it as they circle the respective poles. I like the way star trails capture the colors of the stars.
Since I mentioned the technique of interrupting a star trails exposure in a featured critique, I decided I should demonstrate it.
Very interesting and cleverly done. Thanks for the details about how you did it. I have enjoyed looking through your varied portfolio, from the big bar to the milkyway. Thank you, Oliver.
