With its up to 35 cm high, the bigouden headdress is the symbol of the tradition and the identity of the country. In the 19th century the headdress was hardly 5 cm high, but between 1918 and 1940 it didn?t stop growing: to please, to seduce or simply as a symbol of proud. About 30 years ago, more than 3000 women wore it, today they are only a few, mainly old persons. They may be seen on Sundays in the churches or in front of the stands of handmade embroidered lace that they sell to the tourists during the summer season.

Excellente composition avec un angle de vue très bien choisi pour montrer les coiffes au complet. Très bonnes expressions aussi des personnages.
