This is a fabulous picture. The framing and light suggesting the silhouetted children are coming out of a cave into the light and unknown is superb. The uneven nature of the steps and railings and ominous sky add to the mysterious mood. The body language of the children hepls tell the story. The crispness of the B&W is wonderful. Awesome.

Anyway I have my opinion, the emotion in this picture is not so strong that it could overcome the technical flaws. The texture(surface) of the concrete walls and floor around them is dissolving at the edge and is splotchy. The people are sharp but the walls and floors are not even though they are on the same level. Also I can see that the bushes on the left have been darkened, which is okay, but it was poorly done. At the edge to the tunnel we can clearly see that the bushes have been much lighter than we see them now. The sky looks unnatural as if it was added through layers. my humble opinion, best regards Stefan

Doesn't look blurry to me. Where's all this blur? If there is some, it is definitely not intrusive, it is not in the line leading from the protagonits into the distance, not in the clouds, not really anywhere important. A bit in the kid's hand, giving the impression of motion, like he is wavin "C'mon!"
As for PS work... can't say I see anything that could not have been done with an enlarger and some masking. I admit that the odd sense of scale, with the children being too small for the hand rails, is disturbing, but it is not offensive.
The only let-down detail-wise, for me, is some of the transitions out of the tunnel, bottom-right of the wall and the left-hand side, the fade from tunnel to grass.
In cany case, the end result, the image, is very striking, and reflects the photograper's vision. Small children coming out of a dark tunnel into a steep climb, into stormy weather.
I certainly do not believe even that the photographer has tried to fool anyone (not that it would matter much), since the photo is in the "Photoart" category.
None of the technical details get in the way of this, in the way of the message, in the way of the vision.
So sorry, but I think dismissing it as "blurry and PS" misses the point.
