Actually, I did recrop it and post it again after it was featured. Except I cropped it with the big tree more to the right and the little tree to the left. The space between the two trees made up the middle of the shot. Thus, the rule of thirds. I appreciate the suggestion, though. I hadn't even tried doing it the way you suggested. Looks good.

I love the softness, the colors and the painted feeling of your picture. Since everybody is talking about recropping, I tried my shot at it.

Excellent photo! you got the horizon right, it's in the lower third of the photo. Should have centered the small tree on the left so the large tree would be to the right more creating greater visual impact (rule of thirds). It is an excellent photo nevertheless - great tones and muted color and overall, a nice feel.
