About The sun was setting quickly when I finally located this lighthouse. But It was a perfect time to find it. The ship going by behind it was just icing on the cake to me.

Wonderful story Tim. I think it would be such a joy to spend time in a place like that. Just surrounded by water, nature and beauty everywhere you look. If I'm ever in the area, I will try to find this one too.

Hi Teresa, must be a popular one LOL. Here is a picture of the Light house that I ran 18 years ago. It's called Pulteney Point Light. It didn't have a road to it in the days that I was there and I had to boat into town to get supplies. Sometimes the weather would turn bad for the trip back and it was real hairy.... but I kind of liked a challenge especially if it was life threatening....I was young and fearless. HA-HA. Here is a picture of the light and the arrow is the house where I lived with my son and wife. My son is 20 now and 1 1/2 at that time.
Cheers Bartock....AKA.... Tim Schumm

Well how about that! The light house is a must for any one that enjoys them. I spent my vacation trying to find several, on the eastcoast. I had a wonderful time shooting pictures in the area.

Tim  Schumm Tim  Schumm   {K:29196} 6/18/2004
Hi Teresa, you could try to sharpen the top section by lassoing it, then going to "sharpen" in the filter section and clicking once. that might help allot....i have to do that all the time as my camera shoots a soft image as one of it's faults.....GRRRR.
Good luck, Bartock

Good work!

Sam you might be right , but the lighthouse itself is not sharp enough to make this a good image. I feel that the perspective, with the rocks leading up to it, help to make the shot. Thanks for your comment, I welcome all the help I can get.

I like the view, but the image would benefit from a bit of cropping... It could create some sense of depth

Excellent perspective to bad your DOF is so limited. I guess the limited available light didn't help with that
