Gloria, thank you for the kind words. You spoke of trying in vain to get the detail. That my friend is the beauty of digital. You shot alot and throw alot !!. I can show you lots of blurred photos to go with this one. Remember good light, fast shutter, and smooth panning. any of those missing and its another one for the round file.

Wonderful capture Jim...I am envious, as I have tried and tried..but unable to get the clarity you have achieved. You have captured the detail in the wings...unbelivable!! Thank you for your comment on Dipping in and the rolling cloud shot. That was a strange morning, as the cluds were coming from the east and the west...but nothing happened...at least not in my area...Gloria

I love this pose, it really does look so original with the wings like this and together with the goal concentrating face expression! Very nice! And what beautiful colour of the water!

Very low noise for a 100% crop. The tension between the tip of his wing and the water is good as well.
