About Taken more than a few years ago at the Hotel Florida in Lisbon, Portugal (one of my favorite cities). I thought it was a bit strange that they put the shade sideways but it did do the job - May have replaced them by now.

I would prefer to see this horizontal, the heck with how it was for real! LOL

Love the coloring in this well captured shade. YEp, turn it to the left (yes, I know to tilt my head to the right, but would rather see it differently!! LOL) A black border would also look nice..

VERY well done Mark,
Lori :)

ps...this would look nice on a wall!!

Yes, Mark. Interesting observation. I don't know if there is a way you could have communicated the oddness of the set-up more effectively. Perhaps stepping back and including some item of furniture that may have served as reference for the orientation.

Well seen.

I've had it checked and nobody else is having bounce back problems so I don't know what to say,I'm frankly confounded-will be worked out somehow/someday/someway. We'll just have to hold off on the address situation for now until some sort of solution arrives (as it always does-sometimes out of thin air, sometimes on a giant wave at Oahu's north shore, or sometimes even on the back of a Black Mamba. Even though did you know that they're actually dark greyish/brown in colour? Kind of makes me crestfallen a bit). Some things have come up recently that I need my brain to work through. Probably see you and Mr. Goddard at the Olympics.(Must run. Have a new Pearl Jam CD to get back to. My favourites are "Sleight of Hand" and "Nothing as it Seems". You know those?)

Mark,

Once again, I have to leave a message here. The e-mail I wrote to you yesterday contained my address, but I can't send that message to you, as it keeps bouncing back. I wouldn't like to publicize the address here, so could you please think of an e-mail address I could send it to?

Thanks a lot!

Paula

Mark,

This is just to say that I got your e-mail, but my reply was returned again...

Anyway, I was just saying that my mum's here now for two weeks, so I won't be able to communicate much, but please don't fret, I'm still in on ZEBROW!!

If you set up a hotmail/yahoo/etc. account, I'll send you this last e-mail of mine again, but I've given up on the other address. Sorry!

Szia!

Hehe! Very good! Has the atmosphere of a really old film to it.

very interesting? it would seem it would take no effort to be installed correctly. The lighting is great and so is the image on the shade.

Dear Viewers, if this image slightly eludes you may I suggest tilting the top of your head to the right to see how it was suppose to look had the hotel owner/maintenance guy taken the time to put it up correctly.I could have fixed it and posted it the right way but that would have taken away from the reality of the situation(the whole point) that it was put up side ways. Having stayed in hundreds of different hotels in my life time I'm always amazed at some of the "mickey mouse" repairs, etc. that I seem to find here and there from time to time. This was one extreme example of that kind of thing. I just bothered to take a shot of it,having my camera handy (plus I rather liked the images on the light shade - very unique). If you travel a lot, in different countries, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about(it's kind of an "inside" joke amongst Travel Photographer's)- Take Care, Mark (trying to add a little clairity to a slightly confusing shot....hope it helped)
