Complimenti

Hi Emgy, glad to see you posted a photo in your bio, but where is the Alfa Romeo?
This is now my third visit to this image!
I think this picture is better than any words in the English language, so I can't express my feelings about it. I love the threatening dark clouds, but the women don't seem too worried about them. There are plenty of interesting things in the reflection as well. Great piece of art! Robert (I'm going to give you a seven, and I hope it doesn't drag your rating down ;-)

I've never seen anything like this that wasn't double exposed or layered in post work. It just doesn't look like a reflection at first; and that's why I think it seems so surrealistic. Your images are always intriguing but this one with the mixture of old ships, mannequins, and artificial roses may just take the prize. Wonderful picture, Emgy!!
ps This rating system does seem odd now. I'd like to see it redone completly...on a simpler scale.

I've missed you, Emgy and have been looking forward to your new surprise. I still maintain that this series is at least semi-abstract, even if the objects that compose it are not. Thank youy for always chosing the right words, including for my "Mother and child" I think that you deserve to know that the mother in the photo is the wife of my wife, rachel's late cousin's son.

Dear Khoi Thank you for your prompt reply. I knew that something wasn't working properly with the rating and honesly, I don't care much about it any more but I'm happy for your co-operation cause now I know for sure that the new rating system, like I had suspected for some time, really sucks. It is very annoying to see it happen with the ratings I give I am now asking myself what the point of rating a photo really is. Earlier today I commented on three photos of someone. I gave each of them a 7 cause I thought they were really good. This is what happened: Photo 1 had 5.7 and it ramained 5.7 after my 7 Photo 2 had 5.8 and it went down to 5.7 Photo 3 had 5.7 and it became 5.8 Is there any logic in this????? As I said, it doesn't bother me much for my own photos but I can imagine that it creates misunderstanding and feelings of annoyance to users who find rating important and see it as something incouraging/discouraging Hugs - Emgy

Dear Emgy, believe it or not, I am still at work (it's 7:30pm here in the States). Just finished some work and getting to go home. Thought I could get some easy time by logging into usefilm. I am glad I could catch your comments before going home.
I gave you a 7. Attached will show what I gave you. The rating is totally out of whack nowadays. I am very frustrated with how long usefilm staff is fixing the problem. I am not longer interested in the rating, that is why I only get comments only. I am gonna write up some messages/emails to push usefilm staff to get this things straight ASAP.
Hope that helps. Big hug.

Hi Emgy, This is very, very impressive. Looks so much like a multiple exposure as the light seems to vary slightly in the tree faces. It almost make me doubt that you took this shot through a storefront. Very ingenious! The harbour scape in the background creates a very contrasting element; very surprising / unexpected, considering the previous one in this series. Then there are the three faces, partially overlapping, and all slightly different. That gives it away: It must be a single shot, so there goes the multiple exposure theory. Back to the reflection approach.... And then, after about a quarter of an hour, I notice your reflection in the lower left corner... A reflection! (disregarding, obviously, the project title...;o)
Bloody incredible... I think zooming in a tad more might even obscure the roof of the grey car in front. Doubt if that would work, though, and it is basically not even that important. Amazing shot... Very intriguing and inspiring!
Cheers,
Hugo

Emgy - This series (2) is becoming more interesting and I look forward to continued images to see how you will handle your theme. I like this shot and the variety of faces all tied together with the blue rose. Did you notice the skewed glasses on the left face? At first this bothered me but I find it adds an interesting twist to the entire picture.
I'm ready for more of these any time.

Linn, the display, in this photo, is about no objects in particular, in real life, it's about "glasses". It's an optician's shop window and, as you can see, all dummies are wearing glasses and there were a lot more glasses displayed behind that shop window. I decided to call this series "Blue Roses" cause that's what I liked most of the whole display. Thank you
