Off the beaten track I was,
not knowing where to go.
So out I pulled my camera
and made a picture show.
I shot this picture while I sat
and pondered of a scheme
to return me safely to my camp,
instead I fell to dreams.
I woke some hours later
to some horrific sight!
A pair of elves were weaponed,
and looking for a fight.
So challenged me to war they did
and I reluctantly said yes.
They said of me they would love
to make a bloody mess.
We fought till noon and on past dusk,
and well into the night.
And as the full moon rose,
a lone wolf watched our fight.
And as day broke our fighting ceased
and they honoured me with a bow.
They dissapeared and left me there,
asking questions how.
A lesson to be learned by all,
who fear as peril looms.
Whatever you do just stay away
from wild mushrooms.
