I promise it's level as I use a bubble level every time with this camera. With the super wide angle is very critical. Must be your eyes :)

ANother excellent image John.I find the horizon line tilted abit, or is that the actaul lay of the land and the effect of the mountains playing tricks on my old tired eyes?Excellent lighting, good detail and DoF.

Kim the center filter is only a netural density filter in the middle. It's purpose is to allow for the light fall off in a wide angle lens...

What a warm and inviting looking road... I want to get up in the saddle and check out the vistas! Beautiful use of a lower angle to really pronounciate the road and bring my eyes into the image. Now a cetnre filter.... does that make it sharp all the way through? Or what is the purpose of it?

Great shot...
Color, composition, DOF and perspective, emphasized by the fences to the vanishing point in the wide format, make this a great calendar or bookcover.. The mountains, skyline and clouds add drama.

Great eye John. Hopefully when I go out to shoot this weekend; I will find myself "seeing" things in a whole new light. Thanks again for all your help; and I should have some postings up soon.

Thank you Karen. I too was attracted to the rhythm of the clouds, mountains and the trees.

Beatuiful John. Love the dramatic sky, especially the way that they mimic the mountain top. Very nice rythmn and balance. Nice perspective and great use of the 30mm lens. Excellent exposure balance between bright sky and foreground. Overall a very nice image.

Brilliant! The colours, especially the sky, are amazing. Impressive that you did not need to crop as well.

Thanks Robert. Taken last week. No rain before or after. I had made a foothills parkway run for sunrise and then got to the cove at about 7:30AM. This was taken about 8:00AM (note the long shadows) on a Wednesday thus the lack of cars. The 30mm on the xpan tends to make nice sky's great!

I've never seen a shot of Cades Cove quite like this before. The camera format looks great here, more so since you have some favorable light and those clouds over the mountains. I'm wondering, had it just rained? It looks that way to me because of the lack of haze in the air. People who haven't been here won't realize just how difficult it can be to get this shot with the lighting just right, a lack of haze in the air and what's that I see, or rather don't see, by golly there are no cars. Rare indeed. Nice shot.
