Hi Gabrielle,
Those branches in the foreground... did you permit them to remain attached to the tree and thus, in your way, because their line is harmonious with the shade lines?
Good frame Gabrielle. Really get a big fat oomph in how that is harmonious with the proportion of the structure you've created with that angle. Not having a horizon is doing something too. At least we can see what a worthy subject you have so that's some of it captured.
I see you're sticking to colour here. I wonder if the grain of a different i.s.o. would boil the elements down to what it is you are trying to achieve. Till very recently I've seen high i.s.o's as nothing but a compromise but now I see sometimes less is more sometimes.
Just a thought.
I empathise totally with your fixation.
I've just done two big drives this week to photograph a rock with no success whatsoever.
