Lori, hard to know where to start with this outstanding portfolio but selected this as the presentation looked a little different in the thumb.
It really does have the look of a quality card, and the image is beautifully composed with the star shaped stamen in the corner and the delicate petals appearing to fan away from it into the frame. Yes, your frame is fine, Hugo's lost the plot there!

The softness of this image is amazing.I like a lot the composition and the way you presented it, Lori.
Lovely warm colours and great details
Although I am pretty fond of bright and vivid colours, I like your version better than the one suggested by Hugo (sorry, Hugo!) and.... allow me to say that this photo, somehow suits Hugo perfectly. Maybe it's in the combination of the large frame and the "natural" colours of the whole. Anyway... this is a superb art work and I love it!

Absolutely beautiful, Lori! I just knew this was a cactus flower, from the multitude of anthers! I love the selective focus in this shot, with just the right parts being nice and sharp in a sea of softness... The muted yellows and browns are really nice, too. I'm not big on frames, but I think the color you chose for this photo complements it well (although it feels 'squeezed' on the sides - maybe it'd be better the same width all around?)
Great 'parting shot'!!

Nope, Hugo, don't like the bright yellow. LOL
One thing I liked about this photograph was the subtle tones, therefore I really wantd a frame to blend right into the image, not contrast with it.

You think the 'florals' might grow on you huh? I already saw one example that was really good, COME ON...JOIN IN!!! :)

Hi Lori, I really appreciate the touch.... I'm usually on the giving end when flowers are conserned....;o)
The softness of the photo and the "extreme" crop / cornered composition are fantastic, and if you present them this way, florals could even grow on me (not literally, of course, at least not for the years to come....;o)
Furthermore, the pastel tones are excellent. I'm not sure about the flesh tone of the frame and the way it borders the photo. I think an even width all around would attract less attention to it, and in this case, I think a very soft, crisp but foremost light yellow tone would freshen up the colours a bit. What do you think? You must've created this frame and colour deliberately for sure....;o)
