Uh, if you're really serious about it, you can find one that no one would object to you mauling and take a pad. They root very easily. Put it in a pot. It just might take a while for the fruit. Although, it'd probably be easier to just get some at a store, free of those nasty stickers.

Hi Jason, Really? But I don't think Quail gardens would like me eating the fruit right off their plants do you? I know, I'll just tell them you said it's OK! :)
Thanks for the info, and glad you like this one! Lori :)

Great composition. I remember a very diverse collection of Opuntia's there at Quail. Great place to visit. You can eat the fruits off these, if you're careful. Very tasty. Jason

Hi Lori, the "explosion" created by the leafs in the background is a very creative touch. Very fitting with the cactus. And there I'm stuck again.... Well, you know how I feel about florals, and although the last one in this series is stunning, I do find this less eloquent.... Not to worry, that's just me....;o)
Cheers,
Hugo

It sure is in the prickley pear family. They can be pink and yellow blooms depending on the species. The plant in the background makes a great background for the lovely cactus bloom. Great work Lori. Don.
