Excellent idea . . . they actually did each have different colored shoes on at various times during that day . . . I did it this way because they have to have their ankles crossed over, further suggesting the closeness of the friendship. Thanks for your comment.

this is a clever and eye-catching photograph that i find rather sweet.
from the moment i opened it,though,i can't help thinking that the effect might be stronger if each girl wore shoes of different colour - one black and one red . best friends often do this ;-)
