Bertram, I'll tell you my secret. I use film, which has more detail in both shadows and highlights than can readily be shown on the screen, and I apply very small steps of dodge and burn to the darker and lighter areas to bring contrast, after many repetitions, within acceptable limits. It is like selecting the right grade of paper for the right contrast! And I find it more flexible and effective than just playing with levels, although I do make gross adjustments that way.

John, you mean like Godzilla? Nah, I don't believe in photoshopping things out. And local drivers don't have any say. This festival was going long before there were cars, and will probably still be going after the petroleum reserves are all used up. Drivers are a transient phenomenon, better ignored!

Having been sick for a few days, my twisted imagination tells me there was a large monster in the middle of the stree that you photoshoped out! How do local drivers feel about their streets getting used like this? Good job. - JB

This is a perfect exposed photo ! How did you do that ? Looks like a big fill in flash against the backs of The ladies ? The 800 works great as usually and I love this Fujinon lens. One for the hall of fame.

Funny, I'm just taking a break from preparing this coming Sunday's sermon, which is all about being worshippers of Christ. i.e. Son worshippers!!
Very good photo, Roger!
The dusky pinks work well with the blue-grey of the road.
The panoramic format works well too!
Best regards, Chris
