Nice image Roger. The cloudscape is absolutely amazing, it looks like a bomb went off in the background, that is one serious cumulus. Cheers, Dustin

Thanks for the B&W recipe Roger, I'll try it out tomorrow when I'm working on my submissions for the student end of term exhibition. I'll let you know how I go. I currently mainly do B&W work in Lab luminance channel with some tips picked up from the net and a book "Photoshop Color Correction" by Michael Kieran. Congrats on well deserved featured comment.

jesus whats goin on here?? not sure I am with you on the sheer majesty of the clouds juxtaposed with the trashy hire business in the foregound.. The two are so far apart.. but then that may just be you workin on that notion...whereas I would have gotten all serious and Ansel Adamsy with the clouds and ... yeah ignore what I said Rog...bloody awesome.

Surf Bike? I hope nobody tries peddling those things in SURF! Interesting image, Roger. The high contrast and back lighting make it look quite dramatic while the sepia tone gives it a queer brooding feel. I can't understand what's going on in the sky at the upper right, though. Very strange cloud pattern. Was it some freak weather?

Excellent monochrome and tonal range Great composition and lighting. A fantastic scene. I particularly like the sky and the clouds look very threatening. Did you manage to escape the storm? Very impressive image, Ilike the mood of impending storms Wel seen and well captured, Roger Superb shot! Hugs - Emgy

light conditions in the sky are gorgeous and I suppose have made this shot not easy to have; the richness of right tonal ranges than is the biggest good point here

Roger, different approach with this image, using sepia vs B&W. Whatever is in the sky on the right, between the two groups of clouds is very distracting to the image, basically due to its somewhat rectangular shape. I keep getting drawn back to the same area as I look at the image. Regards, Mike

I hoped you reached minimum safe distance before the blast wave overtook you... ;) You are certainly making full use of all the stormy weather you get up there. Great tonal range, is this a Petteri B&W recipe or one of your own? I recently forked out for Fred Miranda's new B&W plugin (yeah I know) but I'm always interested in different techniques for conversion and it's informative to deconstruct the different processes out there.
