About	Excavated from the rocks by Nabateans ca. 2500 years ago. Before we had peace with Jordan, many young Israelis, who had heard of the beauty of Petra, lost their lives on the way there. A song about it, called "The Red Rock" was forbidden on the radio, not to make the youngsters want to go there.

Thank you for your comment on my "The palace at Petra, Jordan". I'm not sure that Indiana Jones was filmed there, but I agree that the place is amazing.

Looks an amazing place - is this the same place they filmed the 3rd "Indiana Jones" movie? the one with Sean Connery in?

The place is amazing - makes Stonehenge look a little like child's play in comparison... though stonnehenge is twice as old I guess
