About The light in the room was quite beautiful, giving luminous colours the Fuji film has captured well. But it was SO full of knicknacks that the backgrounds are a bit cluttered.

Alan, you're quite right about the film. It was 800. Sorry about that--I've corrected the error now. And the lens is that wonderful Heliar, quite exceptional... the only thing that keeps me shooting at 50mm focal lengths!

This is the portrait that I always admired: the exposure is so good and colours really natural. I thought you had used 800 ISO but I see that 400 is specified. The sharp lens is also a feauere that I liked, it seems true to say that lenses have their own personality. Certainly, this one has such.

I think I'd have been tempted to crop this one a little Roger, as below?
It just cuts out a little of the clutter.
Kind regards,
Chris

you are right it is busy but most of your shots are and in some way it tells more of a story but maybe not a striking portrait. Maybe you should try some close ups, this has a lovely light..rog

Hi Roger; I like all the little details-- tells something about the people's lives. I might clone out that bit of picture frame, but of course a "prist" wouldn't do that. Thanks for your comments and ratings on my-- mostly seascapes lately. I'm mostly an outdoor nature photographer but love good abstracts whether in nature or man-made stuff. But I also like and and appreciate many types of photography. Cheers. Craig

Very much like a preparation for Christmass with all the goodies scattered around. Lovely picture and technically very well managed. Regards, Rob.
