Strong possiblities for this image. There is an awkward proximity of the top of the frame to a horizontal member that might be better cropped out. The old derricks are leaning slightly to the right. nice graphic statement. this looks all too familiar to me . . . maybe you're from Bakersfield, too?

Assuming this was tinted, I think the color chosen is too "nice" for smog. You must decide if in photographing uglyness, shall you let it remain ugly. Dont be afraid of it.
