I love the shot it self, but I agree that the color is a little strong... My suggestion was done with a sepia PS plugin and a little work with the levels.

I really like this shot but I'm not crazy about the toning you used. I would have liked to have seen the original and perhaps in straight b&w and maybe sepia.

I'd really love to see the origional Image, but this is beautiful. Perhaps if you were to soften and selectively desaturate the color image it would come out better?
