carissima antonella,
a fine old face with a strong sense for life. a very noble old farmer i see here. it is a pity ha sat in direct very strong sunlight which burned out part of his head and hands.
very good b/w portrait work!

This is a change from your usual portrait shots(involving lovely ladies!) but I like this shot a lot. Good composure and placement of the farmer's hands. The age lines gives the man a bit of character. A very elegant picture.

A very classic portrait, a bit August Sander in it, VERY nice !! Sunlight is always a problem for shots like this one, I wouldn't mind the brightness if not the hands were partly blown out. And the hands are a very important part of the portrait. If there is some tolerance in the neg for postprocessing I'd try it. A nice image anyway, the Nikon zoom is stunning !

Antonella, when you say you have a Rollie do you mean one of the TLRs? If so, then 30mm or 24mm lenses will give you FANTASTICALLY wide-angle coverage for your panoramas. And the 6 x 6cm size means they will be beautifully detailed, similar to my TX-1 shots. I long to see what your excellent eye will make of the new possibilities. I must say I am surprised not to see any 21mm shots yet, though. You must have had that lens for a couple of months, now...

Pity about the blown highlights on the face and head. I'm afraid I must differe from the majority in that I can't see this as a valid part of the print. It's a very fine portrait apart from that.

A good character study with lots of interest. The contrast was too extreme and, unfortunately, the highlights are washed out.

All the troubles he endured are written on his face. Amzazing with the people of that generation is that they are wearing style dresses in their work environment. A very good protrait of a country man. Regards, Rob.

Great portrait Antonella! Beautiful tones and strong contrasts. Normally I would say it's a bit overexposed, but it just works really well here!

Generally I don't like portraits taken in strong direct sunlight, but this one really works!
