About For those not too familiar with Scottish things: "deer grass" = a kind of grass they will eat in the winter when there is bugger all else to eat - "grouse" a kind of gallinaceous bird that roams the moors. "Grouse doldies"= grouse shit. Both species, grouse and deer, are a boost to Scottish economy, or rather to feudal landlords here, as they are heavily hunted by hunters. It goes like this: there is a gamekeeper that will park his argocat underneath the hunter`s arse. Then gamekeeper transports hunter up a hill. Gamekeeper will help hunter out of argocat (an off terrain hill climbing machine)and will position him behind whats called "grouse butt", a stony shelter behind which hunter can shoot without being seen by pray. In the case of deer hunting boulders will do. Gamekeeper helps hunter point rifle in the right general direction, making fine adjustements(90 degrees is quite common) to his elbow. Hunter shoots, recoils, stares in the distance, sees death, has an orgasm, after which he will strutt back towards argocat with chest protruding several more inches forth. He will then be delivered back down to the local pub where his feat will be recounted in every glorious detail.

So you're quite keen on the sporting estates then eh?! ;)
Most inventive use (possibly only use) I've seen of grouse droppings...
Thanks for your comment on the Holga pic - I left you a comment there!

Straordinaria foto e presentazione. Sulla lezione dell'erba, dei cervi, dei cacciatori eccetera stendo un pietoso velo perchč mi č venuto mal di testa. Alla faccia della "mini lesson"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kita, obviously you're no hunter's love
:)
'grouse' I knew as a brand of scotch whiskey, but I wasn't so acquainted with shooting&hunting rituals
and this is, without any doubt, the spirit of kita's mountains and lochs angry spouting and spitting
:)
