About Yesterday, I visited the Heritage Village in Dubai during the Shopping Festival.. I took lots of pictures, but my fav were pix of the animals (or birds).. this is the first of the series: the Falcon.
It's the symbol of United Arab Emirates.. was used to hunt different kinds of birds for eating purposes, but unfortunately also for fun.. untill it was banned to hunt specific endangered species.. it's blind folded so it won't freak out when it sees people, and it's legs are tied so it won't fly..

The photo is excellent! Really great quality, very sharp and perfect focus! But I just feel so sorry for it... A falcon should not have tied legs, it should fly free..

When I've seen this one I had that odd feeling I was going back in time to those medieval hunts when they used falcons (just closing my eyes and imagining what the hunter felt when the falcon came back to sit on his closed fist, you know..,. that kind of feeling...).
Really nice and romantic. Feeling a little sorry for the bird, though.
