The heavy contrast does create the feeling you have when looking up in the sun. I like that. I dont know if it could have been executed in a better way and to keep this feeling at the same time. I really dont have a problem with it actually... I just shot 7 rolls of street photography and I'd be proud if something like this would come out :-D

I am sorry, but I find what I see here very sad. Not the picture, but simply the fact that the same old internet vice seems to have arrived on this site. As I found it, this picture was rated a 2. I gave it an 8. I'm going to explain why, but I certainly expect the person who rated it a 2 to be a bit mote courageous and responsible, and to come back making his point.

I'll be plain honest here: this kind of attitude is just SICK. If you are on the site to hit and run quietly, then I just don't want to be part of this community. I've seen enough of this kind of things elsewhere and I am not prepared to see it again.

To me, IT IS OK TO DISAGREE about just any image. IT IS NOT OK TO DISCOURAGE PEOPLE BY LESS THAN COURAGEOUS BEHAVIOURS...

Now back to this picture. I can see why one can dislike this shot. The grain (noise ?) is very heavy, and one can easily say that the photographer's shadow in the frame is a BIG MISTAKE... Well, no. Not to me. Not here. The person's shadow is what this picture is all about. The subject is looking up to a person he can't see but we can see this person's shadow, which adds mystery and MAKES the story...

To me, this image is very smart, and if it may indeed have been executed in a better way, it might be worth a 6 or a 7, but not a 2 with no explanation. Now let's see whether our rater will have the guts to come back and speak his mind.

Best regards.
