About A conduit cover on an well-worn railroad engine. This photo cropped, 10% contrast in PS. Then using instructions found in the forums by a note left from Dan Guerin, I made a duplicate layer, ran a High Pass on it, used blending options: Hard Light with 80% opacity. Then flattened the image. These tips were given to improve sharpness of a photo so I experimented and I like the result. Thanks, Dan, for the lesson. NO Poster edge filter was used on this, the cracking of the enamel is just how this looked. I also tried cropping only around the lamp cover itself but liked this better with the rail off to the side. Your comments appreciated.

This looks awesome! All that detail, and it's super clear to boot. Good job with the Photoshop technique. I love Photoshop and what it's capable of especially when it's imperceptible!

Your portfolio was a nice little distraction from work this evening. Lots of rustic & rusting things!

Well seen Dave, and the colours are really lovely. I don't know how you did it technically even after reading your "about"... but whatever, the result is great.

Dave, Not real sure about the reasons for all the photoshop procedures, I would think with the Cannon 300D it waould really not be needed for the sharpness, detail and color where sure to be there. In my humble opinion the crop is as good as it can get. Great eye, a fine shot! Congrats!
