About This was taken earlier this month in the portico of the National Archives, a haunting, cold space even in broad daylight. I wanted to emphasize the architecture while showing the flowing crowd scampering out the doors.

It'd be great if you could crop it out, and lose some of the left side to keep the square format - that adds a lot to the photo as well. But I'm biased, really! This is a very striking image, well done.

Thanks for the comments John and Artie. I see what you mean by the distracting vertical edge in the middle of the frame Artie -- I did not see that until you pointed it out. I will crop it and see -- thanks for sharing your eyes!

very clever idea...good perspective.....nice lighting...as J.S. mentioned the column is definity a good lead in to this image...going to make a suggestion to make this image much stronger...on the bottom center you have the corner of the column base and than a bit of the base going below the corner.....crop out the decending part ....in other words start with the tip of the corner only no decending vertical line should be present...understood.....that central vertical acts as a pointer and is distracting plus it minimizes the columns strength.......

I like the placement of the solid column in your left corner coupled with the motion makes this an interesting photo. Nicely done.
