Another cool shot! It?s like ?Silhouettes at sunset? but with color, how do you nail down this timing? The only way I could capture this is on video tape and isolate a frame. It?s perfect. 400 @ f/8.. sweet? I don?t think there?s anything wrong with the amount of foreground either.
About the highlights in the picture of mine you commented on, (thanks for the comment and rating) it?s a rolev starlight filter, a physical filter I screw on the camera lens as opposed to photoshop filters etc.. I think it?s a kick ass effect and I?d like to see you get one to play with, I?d love to see where your imagination would take you with that.
I don?t know what it is about me and some action shots, maybe because I know how hard they are do in addition to the fact that I?m no good at them but I have to give this one a perfect rating. Although I think you might have been able to sacrifice some shutter timing for more iso.. like 1/250@100 iso and f/8 but nonetheless this belongs on the cover of field and stream.

Beautiful capture of the mallard with it's wings spread Dan. Pity the lady duch is in the background. Composition would have been better with a little more space in front of the mallard. Very nice lighting and wonderful colors and details in the feathers....Best regards Harry
