This is beautiful Peter. I just viewed the one you got artsy with. I like this one better, just love the composition, colors and overall feel and texture of it. Looks like you have a little bit of some type of 'effect' on this, but just a little to enhance.
The filter you used on this for the latter version, I think would look good on a different photograph! (just my opinion) :)

Excellent pattern. And great lighting too. It's so symmetrical that it makes the few straggly dry twigs in the foreground look sacrilegeous!

Hi Peter, tremendous perspective, the converging lines are really superb, the reflections in the water also add to this effect. My only comment would be that the eye follows the lines very easily but is then left with nothing to 'rest' on, a bridge, a barge or some other object at the far end of the vista might make a good shot into an excellent shot.
