Perfect composition wise, the red leaves work well against the white and gray tones of the staircase. A lot of beauty with the wear and tear of the railing. Wonderful shot~

Nice texture and movement of diagonals through your frame. Light is a little flat but it looks like your desired effect... after all the sun is the world's biggest soft box at times! C'est magnifique!

Hi Gayle-I love this photo as among my favs you've presented here. You've captured an ongoing moment of lament with the composition of these seemingly stolid stairs with their weathered,decomposing state and the bright and colorful hope of the season's leaful fall of renewalin the background. The few leaves on the stairs punctuate this feeling.A wonderful composition, well executed!

I like the juxtaposition of shapes. I've seen many staircase photos,but the composition and lighting show a keen eye for the unusual and emotionally stirring possibilities of a still-life photo.Overall, the photo captures the eye first with the shapes of stark angularity of the stairs compared to the round, soft feelng of the balustrades. The feeling of masculine and feminine opposites in this photo is strong and deeply moving. These opposites become apparent with deeper study of the photo.
