About	This series is also a result from our photography workshop at Zollverein (http://www.zeche-zollverein.de) One of the assignments was to make a series of 5 characteristic elements in the area of this former coal mine. This is number four - the elevator tower. In the series I used the omnipresent vegetation as a connecting element. It is trying very hard to overgrow everything and to wipe out all traces of the past...

Hermen,

I wish more people were following this series - the tones in it are brilliant - I love the midground silvery tones in this one that contrast so beautifully with the very dark foreground cattails and the dark background structure.
