About Anyone that is an avid reader of Arizona Highways Magazine has seen this falls (as I have) and has probably dreamed about seeing it for real.... After 25 years traveling in Arizona, I finally got there. Did the "E" ticket helicoptor ride in the first 10 miles and then huffed in my 30lbs of gear and camping equipment to spend 2 of the most glorious days of my life looking at this most magnificent of all of Mother Nature's creations at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
AND, YES....THE WATER IS REALLY THIS COLOR!!!

This picture is so much worth that hike. I've only been lucky enough to see the Canyon from the top. Such splendid colors!

The bleached out area at the top of the image is a minus in an otherwise fine image. Could the area not be adjustes (darkened) in Photoshop Levels? I find the wide dark frame a bit overdone.

Since we are all wishing we had taken this image because its so nice...here is my cut at it. Jim I would crop it as well and your point of gradient filters is spot on. I would try and keep the picture verticle to mirror the falls. Laurie this may look fake to you but we don't know which way the falls should point so I flipped it left-right. Still a great site and one I should put on my intinerary. Good job - J

I would highly recommend cropping the top 1/5th of the photo. The overexposed sky is quite a distraction to the beautiful pool and canyon floor. Use of a graduated ND filter might have helped balance the exposure, but as is the top portion of the image is not helping. See the attached file to see what I mean. The framing could be adjusted even still, but I think this strengthens your image quite a bit.
