Hi Lena, Hanukkah is over now, but I like this photo a lot. It is warm, it is original, the colors are great, it is like a salve to the heart. May we all in this season of holidays and throughout the year express our faith in Humanity.
You have a huge ability to express great feelings through your art. I admire you and your expressions in photography. And you have some wonderful cameras too. But still, it is the person behind the lens that is the creator and you are the best.
My heartful wishes, Alex

A pretty warm composition. In these subjects personaly I have a problem...... two different objects but at the same time the two objects are MAIN in the photo. Where I focus my camera? To the candle or to the book. This is difficult. An artistic idea said that you focused VERY strongly at one object only and the other is STRONG BLUR! For excamble at the candles (almost like this you did here) and the book can be blur. From the photographic view I think a not auto focus can help a lot! In this fact, you must take the shot from a different angle, I think here you must be little bit to the left so the book and the candles could be at the same (almost) distance from your lens. Next one, try to focus manualy using the distance that you have from the two objects. The result is that the two objects will be VERY focused and sharp in the photo and give a ballance between them. Just ideas when you have two or more strong - main objects in your photo. My best regards and... I am sure we will be old friends soon! ;) Jave a great week!

Elena, Nicely done! I don't know exactly which of the objects in the image is the primary subject. I'm guessing the candles. However, I would probably have included the book in the DOF, as it is an important part of the celebration. Regards, Mike

Great work Elena. I would love to know your camera settings for this one. I have been interested in trying some candlelit scenes and was curious about the exposure. Any information or help would be great. Nicely done.
