A really great image albeit rather disturbing.Might be useful as a poster for an organisation like Amnesty International.Interesting mixture of sensations here-pain,defencelessness and protection(the leaves)

The statue is called "Captive Mother". The sculpture was originally created by a Norwegian sculptor, Stephan Sinding, who worked in Denmark at and after the turn of the 20th century. It won a gold medal in Munich and a Grand Prix in Paris in 1889. [Search "spargo" and "sinding" on www.google.com for some interesting comments from 1914.]
As for the negative - I will consider lending it out, if I have enough information that I trust you with it. (Email me at iggers@hotmail.com). My "payment" would be the safe return of the negative and one or two prints - say, an 8x10 and maybe a 5x7.

I'd love to see this print. I'd love to print it. It looks a little flat here. The soft lighting makes the stark impression of the statue feel old indeed. But I'd like to print it really sharp and with full contrast. I would really like the history and story behind this statue.

I absolutely love this. I second the first comment, and the second. (second the second..) What a fantastic subject! Where did you find this? (Hungary, I'm assuming).. Hope you don't mind if I steal this pose for a model shoot someday. This is the kind of image I want to hang on my wall. Do you have prints for sale?
