Thanks Shawn once again for doing it for me... it looks more compact now post cropping... while with respect to both opinion I would like to look at it that different human being will have different taste and choice that is why they are so creative... personally I feel grainy looks better with the cropping done.

Excellent portrait. I would of crop the lower half. The child's hand are half cut off.
I have to disagree with Amitava Banerjea, the grain is good. In my opinion.

Very nice picture with good tonal range and nice expression. I could be a bit sharper but that may be a result of an imperfect scan. The only major quibble I have is with the grain. It's a bit too grainy for this kind of subject, IMO. Try using a faster or less grainy film next time.
