I think the image is great in terms of color, lighting, composition and exposure. The bright light adds charm to this night shot.

Great shot ! Love the back (side) light. The sense of weight suspended above on such thin strands makes it feel like he (she?) could jump down on you at any moment!

perfect - I'm surprised by the rather low ratings, for me this shot deserves "excellent"

Woo-hoo! Anne Arundel County rules! Congratulations, Dan, can you give me lessons? I'll buy you lunch :-)

I don't think the sky is too dark - I like it the way it is - great contrast with the spider. I'm curious as to how you did the wonderful backlighting. I like the almost hyperbolic swoop of the outer strands of the web - middle-left to upper right for the top strand and right-bottom to upper right for the bottom strand. These nicely frame the diagonally-oriented critter. A very nice composition!

As my hero, Steve Irwin would say, "Crikey! Have a look at THIS beauty!"

The sky creates a nice contrast to the spider and its web. Look as if it was backlit, but it gives a nice effect to the detail of the hairs on the spider and its web.It almost looks like its trying to escape its web rather than weaving it.

Nice detail here Dan and I don't think the sky is too dark but the light is just a bit too harsh on the lil fella. Turned out pretty cool nonetheless man! My son liked it too!
