Actually, this isn't a bad shot. It's a touch on the soft side, but that's easily fixed by using the unsharp mask in PhotoShop. All that debris makes a nice natural frame around the subject, though it could be viewed by some as a bit too much clutter. Perhaps next time you could try a straight-on eye level shot of the turtle (if you can find him again!) Of course, it would be difficult to beat the dark hue of that water for a background - it really brings out the colours on the turtle.

This shot has a great exposure - good job. :)
