Kevin, I love the s50. I am a noob to digital photography, and always was spaz with my SLR. I wanted something easy that the wife could shot in automatic mode but also be able to control shutter, aperture, lighting and focus settings myself. I went through about three weeks of do I really need 5G pixels, this one has a hot shoe that one has a better opti zoom, finally Sears dropped the price on the s50 to $440 and I got the thing. It is awesome for a rookie that likes to take good quality pictures. I bring the pics into Digital Image Pro and find that I do not need to do any touch ups, only when I goof up the lighting. Still learning but look for some experimental stuff in the future.
