Greg,

The edge IS from the edge of the Negative. you're correct. It is made in the dark room when making actual prints from photo paper. You use a negative carrier that is slightly beveled with a file.

This particualar edge however was put in the photo using photo shop. I've had some old prints lying around I scanned up so that I can put frames on some of my digital photos just as well as my analog photos.

Where does that border come from? I have seen that type of border many of times and would like to create it myself. It appears to be the physical edge of the slide or would it be an effect added using post production (i.e. photoshop)?

Thank you all for your comments on these street images. I've taken out the frame here... what do you think??

this is great - the two figures - the first seems to be waiting to be teleported - the second already is..

Well done. I basically agree with the other posters' comments regarding the frame and the static/in motion contrast. I wonder if wouldn't have worked better by being less centered: the traffic light and the object on the right somehow compete for attention: leaving either of them out could be worth trying.

Great photo, I love the movement in contrast to the stationary. I feel it could have more contrast, but maybe it's my monitor. Hate to mention it but the frame seems 'too much' for this picture.

thnaks for your comments on my photo. i like this photo of yours. i don't even know how to do something like that (i'm pretty much a novice). the "frame" you chose is distracting to me, it really doesn't work too well, IMO. i LOVE that you left the One Way sign in ther picture, and the fact that the moving figure is going in a different direction. it's also great that there are no people in the background that compete with the two others. very nice, but i'd like to see it without the artistic frame. thanks again for your comments on my photo.
