I need opinions. I'm not sure of the crop here. I like the reflections below and behind the duck and also the rock. I don't want to lose that but I'm not sure if the duck facing out draws the eye out of the picture. I'd like to lose some more in front of the duck because it's lighter with less texture and reflections. That might draw the eye out even more. Also, I already cropped the top and right side out a little.
Nice reflections .....I think I'd actually have cropped more of the busy left hand side & left a bit more for him to look at on the right. So now you've got four different opinions!
Hi Karen, I think you used dof very well here for a potentially distracting bg. I can't help but think (this is beyond your control however) that if the duck were facing to the left, and a crop of most of the right, would make for a fantastic photo here. As it is however, it is okay, but the right side does get a little hot.
i like the colors, the reflection, and the DOF you used here, but even with that DOF i think that the background you got there is a little distracting, kind of noisy... that makes the eye to lost the attention on the duck and it really contrasts with the tranquility of the water... some other background will balance the picture... but as i said... i like it!! speacially the "pose" of the duck! lol regards..
