I think it was a smart move to choose an IR filter. It makes a phenomenal sky even more dramatic. I almost would like to see two-thirds of this photo composed of the sky rather than just half, as there is nothing of particular interest on the ground (an unfortunate byproduct of distance).
Still, I find it a moving shot - I've never seen clouds like this! Thanks for taking this photo and not letting the moment slip by!

Carol; this is super, and I too love those clouds-- and I don't think a "skies" program could come up with something this novel. You did an excellent job of capturing this incredible scene. I haven't shot in IR, but I see many photos such as this that are really well done in IR. Nice work! Cheers. Craig
