I like the flare! sometimes it adds to a shot and I think it does here.. nice photo

Well, you got a lot of flare in the shot, for sure! Were you using a flare shield on the lens? Somehow your sky looks overly blue, but that could be the film. I've got a few shots into the sun with my digital camera in my portfolio you might be interested in seeing. They used to warn camera users not to point directly at the Sun, for fear that the selenium sensor would saturate and not recover for awhile! But times have changed.
