Diana,
I greatly appreciate your time and effort for it tells me that you like my image.
I almost did some adjusts to the red because I felt some might not understand that the brilliance seen is real. Our Florida sun, even on an overcast day, just makes color glow intensely.
And to be painfully honest and I mean not disrespect to you or your opinions the intensity of the red drives the emotion of the image for me.

Very nice composition here Barb. The hard thing with photographing red subjects is to get the shades and tones right. Colours of red always seem to blow out. I have edited your picture a little in Photoshop, I hope you don't mind. Here is what I have done: I selcted the red part of the flower by using the "magic wand tool" and selected "grow" until all the red was catched by the mask. Then I clicked on: image - adjust- levels. I played a little with the levels untill I was satified. After removing the mask this is what the result was. Will you let me know what you think about the red? My best regards,
