The lighting seems to be a problem here. On the one hand, there are washed-out areas on the big dog's fur and on the wood, and on the other hand, almost all detail is lost on the black dog. It took me a while to recognise it as a dog at all.

Compositionally, I would suggest watching out for the rectangular object on the wall, that seems to be growing out of the big dog's neck, and also it might be a good idea to keep the corners clean - the wood in the top left corner is much darker than the surrounding areas, making it draw unwanted attention.
