About This is one of several "fixer-uppers" that I have been working on since I have been learning to use PS. In this case I had not enough space and not enough time, resulting in a bad camera tilt and not enough space on the left. This is the result after perspective correction and a bit of cloning to add a little more wall.

Wonderful framing and composition Patricia, Cartier Bresson would have been proud of you! I am so impressed with the way that so much of your portfolio is so full of maevelous 'decisive moments' and such sophisticated and instinctive composition framing techniques.
Best wishes steve

In spite of all the problems, the compositional work and the diagonal formed by the stairs makes this quite appealing for me. The woman caps it off. Nice image!!!

Nice job Patricia. Great to have the original for comparison. Your P.S.ing work ...well done. I agree, sepia might warm it up a little.
I still like it. The little lady with all those steps! Nice capture.
Thanks for your comments on my Abby photos. I never know where to thank people. So, I'll try it here.

Terrific job with your PS corrections, Patricia, to do justice to a wonderful image. Lines, angles, and corners galore, perfectly juxtaposed with that lone woman at the bottom. Keep up the great work...

Very good B&W, I like the frame and the setup of lines, the position of the old woman is very meaningfull! It seems to be Italy ;) I think you made a good job here, it was hard to correct the perspective in the original photo. Lately I started to use another kind of transormation that can solve some little problem with the simple perspective correction. I don't know the name of this command in the PS english version, I use the italian one, it's called "Distorci" and it's just before the perspective command. It's a bit harder to use, but it's very powerful because it allows you to correct/change every lines or parallelism in the image. Try it :) Bye Max

Patricia, very stong composition, great lines and the title fits it perfectly.

Patricia; this is outstanding! as it unfolded I was thinking "really nice abstract without really being an abstract", and then the surprise figure at the bottom of all those stairs. This is really cool picture, and I'm gonna add it too my favorites! I love all the angles, forms, and lines and it would be excellent even w/o the person, but outstanding with the lady. I love the subtlety of this photo. Nice perspective work too-- I need to figure that out!

Your adjustments really helped this picture! The ledge on the left is still a bit distracting, but cropping more on the right would not leave enough of the upper set of stairs. I've had similar dilemmas... Oh, the torment! :-) The placement of the woman in the composition is great! Reminds me of the quote "You can't just stare up the steps, you have to step up the stairs".

A very impressive job of fixing up. The woman at the bottom of the stairs adds a dynamic touch to this rather cold, graphical landscape. the lines amde by the stairs and the blackness in the windows really make the photo stand out. Very strong image.

Diagonals, horizontals and verticals everywhere...very good toning and a good job on the PS work...I almost think that as long as your doing some PS, that a very light Sepia tone might add some warmth to the image
