Crested Tern (Sterna bergi) breeding colony, Corner Inlet Victoria. I loved how all the eggs look different, yet the cycle of life is the same for all these individuals. Would have liked a bit of shine in the eyes, but it wasn't possible. This is a split-second photo, as just a moment later, the birds all lifted into the air, and only returning after we had counted the eggs and left the area.
