I just got a new lens today, and I wanted to test out the VR feature, so this was taken at night, with just an overhead light in the kitchen. There's more noise than I usually have in my shots because of the higher ISO, which I had to push because I didn't want to use the flash. What really floored me was how sharp the shot ended up being, since it was handheld at such a low speed, I don't have the steadiest hand, and this lens is one HEAVY sucker! The vibration reduction feature seems to work quite well on this lens.
This is the best cat portrait that I have seen in a long time. The presentation is excellent as well as the composition and exposure. Unquestionately a favourite of mine.
What a beauty, Nancy! All cats are winners! Wonderful capture - looks like your new lens is AOK! I know what you mean about weight - I was looking at camera and lenses today and what I want seems quite heavy to use! Regards!
Not only the photo is of exceptional quality but the way it is presented is also quite tasteful. But that particular cat does look to be wearing a dark toupee.
