About I have just taken this photo of a wet fly in my garden. The details of the eyes in the 5 megapixel version are fantastic, though it's a shame I can't post larger file sizes to show this a little more.

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to comment.

To Keith: Thanks for the suggestion, I was actually in the middle of cropping the image in Photoshop as I got your comment - great minds think alike! ;-)

To Sue: The next photo I posted was this one, but cropped in around the eyes. Although this image isn't the 2mb original image, it is cropped without resizing, so the image is at a 1:1 ratio to the original. If you still wish to see any original images, let me know and I'll see what I can do. ;-)

Thanks again,

Stephen

I guess this is the same as the one I just commented, where it's a more closeup of the eyes. This is excellent too, really a perfect shot! Perhaps a bit of crop on top and bottom would make an even better composition even though it's great as it is too.

I agree that a larger file would make this image even more interesting than it is now, however, the poll taken by the administrator seems to indicate that people's monitors couldn't handle it, and I know that the bandwidth (that can be afforded) is already stretched to near-capacity.

However, if you have this on your own website, perhaps you could post the link so that we can see it there.

Nice colors and textures. I can see right down to his bacteria-laden little mouth parts! How did you get him to sit still? Beautifully captured!

Eeeww - and two minutes before having his portrait taken he was sat eating a sandwich !

excellent work, you know it might work well if you cropped right upto the head, with a 5mpixels you should have the resolution to get a really dramatic crop.

Good eye contact. The brown ends of the grass is a little distracting.
Nice work.
