About First, let me say that this is a bad photo, poor focus and blurred. No look at the flying Gull. I was snapping photos of lake Michigan Gulls this weekend, and when I viewed this gill, I couldnt figure out if it was flying upside down, or had its head twisted 180 degrees. This is completly un- retouched with the exception of cropping. Has anyone ever seen a Gull fly like this?

I have shot a lot of Gull pictures but I have never seen the head mounted 180 degrees out of phase like this one, I think you better have the water tested ! jimc

it is a funny shot...my guess is his head is turned, perhaps catching a bug in the air...not technically the best, but sometimes those are the ones that are the most interesting

Hi Jim, a funny photo - I wonder if there's a bigger/more aggressive bird above this gull? Perhaps it was just checking whether it could get away with something - they can be cheeky buggers! Thanks for your comments. Cheers, Alice.

It's a good thing that gulls don't drive cars! Another excellent nature shot.

Good capture, Jim - I'd say he has his head rotated - they are pretty agile and supple.

Gregory, this is no trick..I didnt see that anything was strange until I viewed the photo. IMO, the bird has its head twisted 180 degrees, because, most Gulls in out area have lighter colors on the bottom of their wings.
