I like the image as it is but tonal separation is something to think about.

Lo vi yo, después de volver a observar la imagen con detenimiento después de leer sobre el sistema de zonas de Ansel Adams y de ver algunas de sus fotos. Pienso que el agua y la arena mojada tienen un tono casi igual, cuando en la realidad el color es muy diferente. Creo que un tono más diferenciado entre el agua y la arena mojada hubiera sido más apropiado.
I saw him, after returning to see the image carefully after reading about the zone system of Ansel Adams and see some of his photos. I think the water and wet sand have an almost equal tone, when in reality the color is very different. I think a more differentiated tone between water and wet sand have been more appropriate.

Yes, agree.Please see my latest comment below. While I like this image, I've just noticed Alfons is developing a passion for monochrome and thought AA's work would offer both inspiration and technical knowhow

I agree in principle about AA works. But in this particular case I think that Alfons express his idea. Black figure of the man - and light space of Nature.

No veo demasiado de un problema, sólo he dado cuenta de que usted tiene un gusto por el blanco y negro y que no encontrará mejor inspiración y conocimientos técnicos de que obtendrá de Andsel Adams

You've got the compositional thing happening, no doubt.
Next you need to look at Andsel Adams' work and read about his theories relating to tonal range.
